Woonerf Inc. located in Tokyo, Japan (“Woonerf”) and Quest Energy Group, LLC located in Arizona, USA (“Quest”) are pleased to announce that QW Energy Solutions Inc. has been established as a new joint venture company in Japan.
Background and purpose of the new joint venture company
To achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, the energy and industrial sectors must make huge structural transformation efforts. The building and real estate sectors account for a large percentage of greenhouse gas emissions and are expected to contribute further decarbonization throughout industry.
As of 2025, Woonerf has completed more than 150 projects in Japan with LEED, WELL, SITES, and other international certifications for built-environment spaces. In addition to certification advisory, Woonerf provides overall sustainability consulting, engineering and technical solutions.
Quest is an energy-focused consulting and engineering business in the United States, with experience in Energy Modeling, Commissioning, Code Compliance and Energy Audits, and more than 300 LEED consulting engagements.
The two companies have collaborated on a variety of projects over the years. Considering the potential for energy-related services in the sustainability field in Japanese market, Woonerf and Quest established a new joint venture company to provide services that leverage the knowledge and experience of both companies.
